Rain on your wedding day...

Well the wedding was yesterday, severe thunderstorm warning and all.  They say rain on your wedding day is good luck... a severe thunderstorm must be guaranteed eternity of love and prosperity... As far as flowers go, the rain was great, no worries about wilting flowers from the overbearing heat...  The Bride and Groom looked radiant, their attendants, just gorgeous and the church and reception venue were definitely memorable.  Here are a few piccies, I took of the flowers and reception venue... Enjoy!
The Bridal Bouquet, very natural and simple.. thanks for modeling mum!
A fridge full of flowers... an arrangement for every week of the year!

I'm sure the rental van never looked or smelt so gorgeous....

A central table centre... the fragrance of the the Peonies was so strong...

Outer Table centres

The bridal table, empty vases were placed for the bouquets...

I loved doing this wedding, Hayley was the perfect bride, and I hope, despite the weather, it was the perfect day for her and her man!  When I get my hot little hands on some of the professional photos I will show and tell!

Wedding Inspiration

For my first Maison Fleur Wedding, the bride and I started with some beautiful images to inspire us.  Years ago, Hayley had been to a wedding with 'big poofy, but beautiful' flowers.  She finally figured out that these flowers were in fact Peonies.  As these flowers are one of my favourites, between her and I we were not short of a few images to inspire us with the designs for her wedding.

Firstly, the brides bouquet is inspired by this image, simple and natural looking, however, Hayley's will be much larger.  White Peonies with pink tips clustered with magnolia leaves.  This look is timeless and stunning, not to mention the fragrance!

Bridesmaids bouquets are inspired by this image.  It was decided on a deep red Peony to contrast with their midnight blue bridesmaid dresses.  I honestly love this decision, I really think this will look spectacular!

I have joined the Revolution....

I would like to start by introducing myself to you all here in blogland...  My name is Lauren, I am a student at QUT in Brisbane, studying interior design.  I am kept busy by working at Lily G and also my own boutique wedding and events floristry service, Maison Fleur.  I have my first wedding next weekend November 29 at Woodlands at Marburg, and I am increasingly nervous.  The preparations have begun and I can't wait to share the beautiful photos with you.
